Wanted to send you some recent pictures of Lucy and Traveller. They are so precious. Doesn't matter how many bones are on the floor, Lucy still wants Traveller's and she let's her voice be heard. Traveller barks when Lucy tells him he can bark. Most of all, Lucy knows when I don't feel well and always wants to give me a hug. She literally wraps her body around my neck and kisses my cheek.

We also would like to thank you once again for our wonderful Teckels. They are the most loving, even-tempered, athletic and beautiful animals we ...have ever owned. I don't know what we would do without them. We enjoy long walks in the forest with them as they run free and enjoy nature. Indy is the hunter (great nose and sight) while Kona is the retriever and sounder. He has a Bark just like a hound. As I've said before, you don't just breed beautiful animals, you provide a vehicle of love and hapiness to everyone your dogs come in contact with. Florentina vom Weberschlösschen We call her Florik, she is smart, very active and has excellent temperament. By now she knows four commands: come, fetch, sit and no. We take her everywhere with us. She is not house broken yet, mostly because we cant keep her locked, but she is paper trained :) and she never does anything in the car. My old dog still very much disappointed and is not playing with Florik. I am not loosing hope yet :). Florik brought so much happiness to our lives. She is absolutely precious. News from Freddy and family:
Hi Alexandra,
We are so pleased with Freddy and so grateful to your children for letting us have him.
I know they must miss him, but they can be assured that he is being taken care of with
the utmost care and love.
He's sleeping through the night in his crate by the side of our bed. The rest of the day,
He's so very cuddly. He likes to burrow in my neck or drape himself around the back of
my neck and go to sleep. He knows his name, and "Dad"'s name, and he always greets
both us with wagging tail and puppy kisses.
His house training is going wonderfully. He has been getting out and around with me:
yesterday he came to Physical Therapy with me (I'm having a hip replaced Nov. 14) and
was well behaved in his crate while I did the exercises.. He met my hairdresser, too.
Everyone just melts when they see him. He greets many of them with kisses on the nose.
Monday morning we will be going to his first vet appointment, and I know everyone there
will go crazy with admiration. What a champ he is... exactly what we wanted in every way.
I don't even care that he isn't black and tan! He is our Freddy, and he's wonderful.
Thank you, Alexandra. This is obviously a dog with a wonderful temperament.

Hi! The trip home was easy, but long.

Freddy slept most of the way in my lap. Last night we put him in the crate next to our bed at about 10:15 and he slept till 12:15; I took him out and he had a pee, then he slept till 5:30.
He's settling in nicely. He likes to lie next to me on the couch fora little nap.

We've already been out to lunch, and tonight we'll go to my quilting group.

He seems to like the crate as a retreat.
He's such a happy, energetic little boy!
You have done such a good job with him so far that our job of housetraining is going to be much easier.

We loved visiting your house and getting to meet mom Flori, Papa Jimmy and all the aunts and uncles. I wish I'd taken a photo of all of them out in the yard together.
You will be hearing from us again very soon!

Ella is truly a joy. She goes outside to be "a good girl" and has had no in house incidents. She goes outside early and then loves a little snuggle time until about 6. Eats all her meals, loves exploring, and sleeps in her kennel well. She is not timid around people and loves her belly rubbed. I try to litghtly brush her at night for a few.moments and she seems to love it.

We couldn't ask for more! All of this thanks to you.

"Willy" is now three years old. He is a true character. He is nimble as a cat and constantly is figuring out how to get into anything that isn't locked shut. We have never seen such an athletic dog. He has a loving personality and always has to be where we are in our home. He has become very protective of our other female dachshund, Carly, and also is the watch dog of the neighborhood. Everybody knows Willys bark !

He is in excellent health and we groom him and brush his teeth regularly. His veterinarian can't believe how clean and white his teeth are. We still feed him only Royal Canine and nothing else except carrots as a treat. A very remarkable dog and we couldn't be happier.

Hope you are all well and having a good summer. We recently visited my mother at her assisted living home and Q was WONDERFUL with all of the residents, most in wheelchairs. He gave them a lot of love and joy as he does for us every day. I love him with all my heart.

our V litter moved out and we got several updates that all of them are doing great.

Vanessa is an amazing puppy and is very, very special. She fit right in with the other dogs and is right at home with Jade to show her what to do. Both Jade and Vanessa are true gifts and bring us Joy and Happiness in large quantities, we are privileged to have them. Thank you for our very special, sweet and intelligent dogs. Here is a note and pictures from Veronica's aka "Trixie" family,

........................................She's a total love to everyone she meets.

She's been house trained and is responding very well to going potty on her special pad. She knows the command, "go potty" and will run to her pad. She also knows the word "treat" and is happy to recieve the freeze dried liver after every trip to the potty.
She's doing well with other commands such as "don't bite", "no", "come" and "sit". We haven't been able to take her to a puppy class for further training with all this snow we've been receiving. I'm sure your area was hit just as hard.
As for Oscar, he's turned into a very different dog. He and Trixie really enjoy playing together. With the exception of the rawhides, he shares everything with her or they turn it into a game of chase and tag.
I can't tell you enough how pleased we are with her. She's a very loveable, affectionate and sweet puppy. I promise, I will send pictures soon.

Hi Alexandra-
Marlon, Yocco and I have just moved to Los Angeles, CA. We drove with Yocco cross-country! It took about a week. Yocco was perfect. We are so glad we took him for the ride (vs. sending him on the new doggie airlines). He is very much enjoying the warm CA weather, and loves the sun (literally he will lie directly in the sun, it's pretty funny). He has made lots of new friends, and is often playing with my parents mini schnauzer.

I think every year we all fall deeper in love. He means the world to us, and we can't thank you enough for him. I have attached pics. The pic at the beach was from this summer in Bridgehampton. The others are in our living room in Los Angeles.

PS Feel free to use me anytime as a reference for potential puppy mommy and daddy's.

Hello Alexandra & Family,

Since Quadro has made so many friends we decided to have a party for his first birthday! Nine of his best friends came to celebrate and we had quite a fun time. I've attached a few pictures from the party for you to see. Quadro was very excited to see so many of his friends in his own yard and house. Obviously, we decided that Ullie was the best name for the pup as it fits his personality pretty well. We considered calling him Peanut because he REALLY likes peanuts. I dropped one while eating some and he picked it up. Now I can’t open the can that holds the peanuts without a little help from the floor. What a jewel he is .

Hi Alexandra - an update on one of your S Litter alumni

Serge is maybe the best dog I've had the pleasure to know - he's energetic, affectionate, smart, adventurous and very athletic. He's grown really well, his coat is starting to come in and the hernia on his belly is almost gone. My wife took this picture and while it doesn't show too much of him, it captures one of his main attributes - his alertness. He's a busy little dog who just wants to please, and whose tail never stops.
All that and he's good looking enough that people stop us in the street when we're out for a walk. If I can get him to stop eating my shoes, then life will be just about perfect :-)

I hope this finds you and your family in good health. As you know, today your “R” puppies celebrate their first birthday. I am sending you some updated pictures of Raleigh. He is doing so wonderfully. Remy, my red female, turned 12 this year. My little black and tan, Ripley, turned 10 this year and all three get along so well. They are a close little pack. Ripley always liked to play, but Remy slowed down in past years until Raleigh came along. He really has a way about him to get her to play with him. They are all blessings in my life.

...........Brandy's coloring is changing. The middle of his back from top to bottom is turning red. It looks like he is going to be red possibly with the black overlay. Everywhere we go people say how beautiful his coloring is. They say they have never seen anything like it. He gives people sweet little licks.

Our Lilly has gotten to be such a good dog. She finally is out of the crazy puppy stage. She is so much fun now and we love her so much. What a wonderful sweet dog she is. She is so affectionate and so smart. What is funny about her she is very verbal. If she wants something she does not bark she almost talks. She makes distinct sounds that sound like words. We totally know what she wants. We just laugh when she does it. If she wants to go out it is a different sound the when she wants to play. It is just hysterical. We are having so much fun with her. She has been a very healthy dog so far well. She is just a wonderful dog. If I ever want to get a dog in the future I will know who to contact. I totally see why you love this breed they are exceptional dogs.

NATC Fall Event 2011

The NATC Fall Event 2011 will be held November 16-19. 2011 here at our place. D-BAR-W Equestrian Center. November 16 and 17 we will offer serveral DTK tests, such as gunshyness, BHP 1,2,and 3 (Companion dog test) and water test.
November 19th we will hold our Zuchtschau Conformation show where dachshunds get a written critique from a FCI judge. Afterwards we will have a dinner and our annual membership meeting at Weaver Market banquet facility, guests are welcome. More info with details will follow. Hope to see you there!

Oh, we have had the BEST week with your little girl!! She is such a little love!! Not much of a biter and was potty-trained in the first day! We couldn't ask for a better personality, either!! She is absolutely hysterical!! Bianca is like a little cartoon character when she scampers in place before actually getting that forward movement! She has us in stitches constantly!!

Dear Alexandra

Just wanted to give an update on Isabella (Dorothy vom Weberschlösschen). Since the weather was cold and windy earlier part of last week she wasn't too eager to do her business outside. Finally, she has found a spot in the yard that has dirt in which she just loves to go and explore and do her business. She starts to bark and does what I call a little back and forth dance to let me know she is going to do her business. She is a smart little peanut and so lovable. The boys are still trying to adjust to her presence and they put her in her place when they don't want to be bothered, but she's not afraid to defend herself. Today, she had her 1st experience with the snow and she was like a little snow bunny running around and licking the snow. She loves it.

I have posted some pictures on my facebook page. She is a ham and loves to pose for the camera. In the little time she has been with us she has brought us so much joy.

Thank you so much and we will continue to give you updates.

Dominik vom Weberschlösschen stayed in PA

"Nikki" at his new home

Dominik is adapting well to his new surroundings; far better than I expected! He has already learned to use the "puppy pads" in our garage to do his business. Sometimes he does forget and leaves me a quarter sized spot on the carpet. I believe he does this just to make me run the carpet shampooer which he enjoys chasing. He enjoys running up and down the little ramp that I made for Maxwell to negotiate the one step from the house to our garage.

Nikki is eating well, not overeating, and enjoys a variety of things as you suggested. Hardest thing is nighttime when he does cry quite a bit from time to time. I can't bear to know the little tyke is in emotional distress. I know this will pass with time as it did with Maxwell.

As you mentioned, he has sure put life back into this house. Be the end of the day I am totally rung out. Its a good feeling!

The pups are getting used to their surroundings and seem to be adjusting well ... so far they haven't threatened to run away from home so we must be doing OK.

They were perfect! We gave them a little food and water and took them out when we go home. They slept til 7:30 this morning! We have been out 20 times this morning and now they are howling! I put them in their crate so I can shower and dress! They played with some toys and had a big time rolling around the kitchen this morning. Thanks so much for bring them to the airport. I've attached two pictures of our buddies for you. I've checked out your facebook page, although I don't have one of my own, but I was still able to see pictures. I just loved the "feeding time" picture of all those adorable puppies. (And also the "Lazy Co-pilot" picture stands out for me too.) Can't imagine how crazy, yet fun, it must have been, and possibly still is, for all of you with all those sweet puppies. You really do breed the best dogs. We couldn't be happier with our two. I've had a dog in my life, all of my life, and these two honestly are the most well behaved, balanced, eager to please, easy to train, happy go lucky little critters I've ever owned. I've also never seen either one of them growl or show their teeth. They truly are a pleasure to have in the house. When they play, it's better than watching TV! I still haven't mastered trimming the hair between their toes though. When I'm done with them, they look like they had a "bad haircut"! But, they don't care. They love us anyway. And, we love them.

I periodically check your website to see all the new little darlings - even if they are all reserved! Our little Penny (AKA Laura) is all grown up now but just as adorable as ever. She is slender but muscular with a beautiful sleek coat - not a fluff ball at all. Everyone who meets her wants to keep her for themselves. She is such a joy to have as part of our family. She very athletic and loves going for walks with us around our property (we walk - she runs) and promptly learned to swim in the pond with us and our chocolate lab. If we try to fish, she will jump in and swim out to the lure. She's a real hunter - going after garden snakes, frogs, fish, mice, and chasing the geese and ducks that come around our pond. She loves giving and getting "hugs" and will lean up against your chest with her paws on your shoulders and press her face against your cheek for as long as you will let her. She melts everyone's hearts. She's always by our side, ready for the next adventure or to stretch out between us when it is time for bed.
I know everyone who is lucky enough to take one of your puppies home has similar stories but just wanted to tell you again how much we adore her. Thanks so much!

On October 9th I traveled with Jimmy, JesseJames and Felix to our NATC Event to Rockford IL. It was a long, long trip and I never driven that far alone, but the weather was beautiful, and I had a great Co-Pilot what more could I have asked for?

Saturday night we spent the night just before Toledo OH, Anke from N.J. met us there.

Monday morning we had the Zuchtschau at the Forest City Dog Training Club, it was a very nice facility, and everything was well organized. We enjoyed meeting new teckelfriends and and teckels from all over the US, and enjoyed visiting with "old" friends. We got to see Olivia vom Weberschlösschen and Quadro vom Weberschlösschen, this is always very special to see our Weberschlösschen kids.
Herr Andreas Tornau was our judge for this event, and he was a great judge-, well liked by owners and teckels. He knew enough English to explain his judging without translator, and was very comfortable doing so.

We had another successful NATC event at the Winnebago Scout Reservation in N.J. I meet a lot of nice people, and seen lots of nice dogs. I was especially happy to see Serge vom Weberschlösschen and owners and Vanessa and Jade vom Weberschlösschen and owners.
Our judge was Frau Heike Behring she did an excellent job judging and explaining why a certain dog got a certain Formwert or rating. It was a very long, hot and humid day but a lot of fun!
I took my new teckel boys, Jesse James and Jimmy, just a few days short of being 1 year old, both got the rating "excellent" and passed their temperament test. Michayla also was along she also received an excellent and passed the temperament test.
I also had Olivia vom Weberschlösschen along her owner was unable to bring her, she also got an excellent and passed the temperament test. In the end Jesse James got best Longhair out of all the longhair teckels, a beautiful standard wire hair bitch won BOB

We here from Yulchen aka Calla's family Hi Alexandra,

I have been meaning to let you know how we are doing. Yes, I received the papers. I couldn't understand any of it but did read all the names of parents and grandparents to Calla. She seemed to be excited about it! ha!
We have been busy visiting the kids, grandkids and grandpuppies. Calla makes friends with everyone. Right after the 4th we went camping for 5 days in upper WI for a country music festival that we have been attending for over 20 yrs. I couldn't stand the thought of leaving her behind so Calla went with us. She loved it. She loved the camper and had fun meeting all of our friends that we camp with.
Calla is such a joy! She is so good. She has doubled her size and is so beautiful. We have had some accidents in the house but mostly when someone is over and my focus gets "busy". Also we have had so much rain that it makes it hard to get either dog out. Today, though, Calla decided to be brave and went out in the rain. She had so much fun. She didn't even mind the toweling off after she came in.
I am hoping the chewing is at its height now. No lost teeth yet. Most the time she does listen and stops biting people, socks, blankets, pillows, shoes, bedding, furniture, books, clothes, etc. I'm running out of "high" places to put things! We have lots of toys so easy substitutions are made successfully most of the time. She picks things up very quickly so I am confident all will be well in no time.

Again, I have to thank you for developing these wonderful dogs. Aside from being beautiful, Calla is loving, snuggly, fearless, and happy! I can't imagine my life without her.

Yoachim moved to Augusta GA
We heard from Yoachim's family

I have been wanting to write and tell you how happy Yoachim is and how well he is adjusting to his forever home. He is wagging his tail all the time and is so happy. He is a loving little fella and I get a great deal of joy holding him. I hope I don't spoil him too much. He is eating well on his Canine baby dog food. He has his crate in the kitchen along with Topaz and her crate. The kitchen is near the back door to the patio where they go into the back yard.

I took him to Dr. Walker the vet here and got his booster injection and he will go back in one month for his last one. Dr. Walker (Highland Animal Hospital in Augusta) examined him and said he was a fine boy! I did get to see his boarding facility in case I needed a good place for him in case of an emergency.

It is getting near to the time that little Lilly will have her litter. I will watch for the event. Needless to say, I would love to have another little boy to go with Yoachim. Maybe I could if you have a litter in late March of next year.

Quinton plays Piano!

I hope you're doing well. I've been meaning to send you a video clip of my Mom's youngest puppy, Quinton. He's grown into quite a big, handsome boy. But . . . the funniest thing is . . . all on his own, he's learned to play my parent's piano. None of our other dogs can do this. Quinton just started to do it all on his own one day, and now, he puts on a show about every day.

Our pups, Gibbs (Gilbert) and Linny (Olina) are doing well. Linny just turned two on 29 Mar. My Mom's other dog, Gunny (Gunther), is very happy and healthy too!

Xandria moved to Annapolis, MD

Hi Alexandra,
Well, we've had Abbey (Xandria) two weeks now and, goodness, have our lives changed! Today she is 10 weeks old.

Abbey is a blessing in a very small package. She is filled with love and good humor combined with a very stubborn streak showing all her Deckel characteristics in a 3 pound package. She is growing and each day I see changes in her.
She sleeps in her crate at night and goes in without a whimper or a cry. She takes naps during the day, usually lying on my shoulder where we both benefit from the love that flows between us. She plays with her toys like it is a battle to the death (usually the toy dies!) and runs and jumps outside with delight. Of course, true to her breed, everything goes into her mouth - rocks, leaves, sticks, worms and dirt. I spend my days saying "No Abbey, no Abbey" until I believe she thinks her name is "No Abbey". Does she listen to me, usually not! But I keep trying.

I feel like the mother of a newborn child where my day is focused on the baby, playing with Abbey, walking Abbey, napping with Abbey! We have taken her out to town and she adapts to it beautifully. She is too small to walk the sidewalks yet with all the crowds so I carry her in a doggie sling. She has played in the beautiful grass beside the capital building and lunched at a sidewalk cafe. She is admired by all who see her and many strangers have stopped us to have their picture taken with Abbey. She goes right to them and gives them a friendly lick, just in time for the photo. Of course, they don't want Bill or I in the photo, just the adorable puppy. Our town is very dog friendly and shop keepers usually have a supply of dog treats for the visiting pet. Abbey was fussed over in a lovely jewelery store we stopped in, given a doggie treat and her own bottle of water. (No jewelery was offered, but who knows what can happen!) Again she was passed from arm to arm and took it all in her stride.

We have signed up for Puppy Kindergarten classes that we will start in May.

Abbey and our cat, Patty, are still coming to terms with each other. Abbey wants to be friends and play, the cat tolerates her but isn't sure yet just how far she wants to get to know Abbey. But, unlike her usual behavoir, the cat stays in the kitchen with us all day in her own bed instead of taking off to her usual napping spots. That says a lot for the future relationship!
The housetraining is going as well as anyone could expect at 10 weeks old. I think she is picking it up very quickly.

There is no doubt Abbey is extremely smart and knows just what she wants. When we go for walks it is usually where Abbey wants to walk, not where I wanted to go. We are getting to know our neighborhood and the other dogs in it. Abbey is always pleased to see them and never barks, just wags her tails and wait to see what happens. Yesterday we met a 10 month old Collie and Abbey handled it all like a champion.

I am attaching some photos we took and we will keep you up to date on her progress often. I know alll the good traits Abbey has have come from the care and attention you give to breeding the dogs and socializing them before they come to their future homes. Thank you!
I could never have guessed Abbey would be mine, Bill did a wonderful job keeping the surprise. Thank you for your help in all of the planning!

Hi Alexandra and Family, Congratulations on your Y litter trio !!! And to all the Y families "in waiting"....you are in for a real sweet treat when your puppy pick-up date arrives !!! Our little girl Roohi Xylina is certainly living up to her name's special meaning..( a beautiful, unique soul ) ! She seems to like her new home and after only 2 nights of "pipping" at 3:30 a.m., is sleeping snuggled in her crate all through the night !! We are still a work in progress on the housebreaking but it will happen and overall she is doing well. Our 3 year old chocolate doxie, Gibson has finally figured out that Roohi is here to stay.....he has attempted to share her crate even though he himself has not used one for over 2 years. I took Roohi on a special visit to a homebound member of our church who is on oxygen. Roohi gave her much love and many kisses as you can see in the picture !! Again, she lived up to her initials of Rx as she really brightened France's day and gave her great joy !! My elderly friend is looking forward to many more Rx visits !! Roohi was also the favorite at the church's preschool for "show and share" ! Now I am known to the parents as the teacher with the beautiful puppy !!! Thanks again for the opportunity to own one of your wonderful pups. We are blessed ! She brings delight to all who meet her and she is truly and uniquely special !!!

Hello Alexandra!

Thank you so much for the picture- we have been thinking about you as well and I apologize that I had yet to e-mail you and let you know how our trip had gone and how little Rosie Ann (Melanie's name is Melanie Ann so she decided that Rosie Ann was appropriate!) is doing in her new home. First of all- we are convinced that we have acquired the cutest and the best behaved little dachshund you ever bred! She was a dream in the car - crying very little and sleeping much. The first night seemed effortless- she slept in her little crate by our bedside and only cried once at about 3am - I took her out,she went potty, and got right back to sleep. The second night was a repeat. She has eaten all her food everytime, is quite anxious to make friends with Gideon, kisses freely, and has learned to sit on command already (ok- maybe I am exagerating a little on the sitting command- :)) but I am sure she will master that soon too. We showed her off to a couple of our neighbors yesterday and they could not believe how beautiful she is.

So all is well with little Rosie (Xenia/Miss Orange)- as I write this she is sleeping peacefully in her crate dreaming perhaps of her other home in the Pennsylvania countryside far away but knowing she is loved many times over in her new Virginia home.

Thank you again for your thoughtfulness toward Melanie and all your time with us on Saturday. We all enjoyed meeting 'Miss Alexandra' in person.

We will definitely stay in touch and let you know how your little one is doing.

NATC Zuchtschau 3.October 2009

This years NATC Fall Zuchtschau was held October 3rd 2009 at our place in Adamstown PA, Herr Wilfried Petersen Federal Chairman for Conformation Judges of the DTK came from Germany to judge the dogs.

We had a beautiful sunny warm Fall day, and Teckelfriends with their four legged friends came from all over the USA arriving by car and plane, from Texas, Florida, Virginia, South Carolina, New Hampshire, and New York and some did not have quite such a distance to travel.

The spectator and exhibitors appreciated very much, that Herr Petersen took a lot of time explaining how he is examining a dog on the table, and he explained in detail why a dog received a certain rating called "Formwert" after he was done judging a dog.
First the dogs were weight, then their chest were measured, then their bite and teeth were check,- all teeth were counted, each vertebrae of the tail was examined. In male dogs the judge checked if for both testicles were present, he also checked the quality and amount of the coat. Also the dogs temperament during the examination was evaluated, if the dog was scared, timid or relaxed and friendly.

Then the exhibitor had to walk the dog in the ring, and Herr Petersen judged the dog at the gait, and then received a rating and a written evaluation.

Here is Olivia vom Weberschlösschen on the judging table, she came all the way from TX with her owner, but it was worth while she received the rating "Excellent" or Vorzüglich, and is a beautiful Kaninchenteckel bitch. Below Olivia in the ring.

After all the dogs were judges, Herr Petersen called all the dogs that have received the rating "Excellent" back into the ring, to dogs for best of breed and best in group.

Alina vom Rathausplatz, Owner Sabine Lang Breeder Thomas Knoch Germany, was picked best of breed for the wire hair teckel,

Agnetha von Ulls Gesellen Owner & breeder Anke Master was picked for the smooth hair teckel, and our Amore Mio von Schloss Tenneberg, breeder Petra Oelling Waltershausen Germany was picked for the longhair teckel and was also picked Best of show. At this Zuchtschau Mio was approved to be eligible for the DTK breeding program. We are very proud and happy to own such a nice dog, and we are hoping he will give us lots of nice Weberschlösschen off springs. Herr Petersen said, "There is not much to say -the dog is perfect in every way"

Felix is just one of a kind, and I feel so very lucky to have him, I never expected him to defend his last years Klubsiegertitle, -of course I wished and hoped for it, but I never thought it would happen. The DTK Klubsiegerschau is the biggest Teckel show in Germany and the competion was great. People came from all over Europe, and even Japan. Felix loves to be in the show ring and it shows.

I wish I had it on video how my friends loudly cheered as the judge said ... and Klubsieger will be the Nr. 242....

Finchen got her last "Anwartschaft" or point for the DTK Champion so she is VDH and DTK German Champion, this almost meant as much to me as the Klubsieger title for Felix, it was Finchens last chance and she did it.

Lexi did well too, she got a great evaluation and got V2, Mio did very well, he got a V3 out of 8 dogs in the youth class for his first big show not bad at all.

NATC Spring Zuchtschau 2009

On May 31, 2009, the NATC held a spring Zuchtschau at Rockaway, NJ. The show was judged by Mlle Agnès de France, President of French Club des Amateurs de Teckels. A big thank you to Teddy and Carl Moritz for hosting the show. It was held at a boy scout camp, a beautiful and perfect setting for the event.

Three good looking Teckelboys Milo, Mio and Felix

Lexi and Lilly vom Pfauenhof, both were meassured in with BU 29cm (chest circ.) and both weight about 3,5 KG about 7,5 lbs.

Both did very well and showed themselves from their best side and got the rating "Vorzüglich" Excellent. The judge really liked them both. Now they have the DTK permission to enter our breeding program.

Amore Mio von Schloss Tenneberg visited his first show and also showed himself from his best side. He was calm on the scale and table as the judge checked his teeth and checked each vertabrea in his tale ....and he got his first Vorzüglich. Just before I had to take him of the table the judge took his head looked in his eyes and said " a very nice dog".

Out of all the longhair dachshunds that received a rating of Vorzüglich, Mio won BOB! Also Anke Masters' bitch won BOB of the smooth teckel and Joeri vom Nonnenschlag owner Jolanta Jeanneney won Best of Breed cogratulation John and Jolanta!

It was like always ....a wonderful (and successful) trip to Germany, but this time even better because it worked out that Dave my husband could go along. We also took Lydia and our dogs Felix and Finchen.
We first visited our dear friends Heinrich and Inge (owners of Ken vom Waldesrain, sire of Felix, Finchen and Flori and Felix vom Haus Schöneck sire of Ken) we are always greeted with heartfelt welcome. They makes us feel right at home and our dogs feel right at home too, instantly they bond with their dad (Ken)and grandfather (Felix)and remember right away the way to the backyard.

We went to the Europasiegerschau in Dortmund, Finchen got V1 in her class and with this earned the title VDH German Champion, Felix got V2. The judge had a difficult job making a decision with lots of beautiful correct dogs. There we meet Günter and Petra and lots of other teckelfriends. For us it is not only about showing our dogs, but also meeting our friends and making new friends.
Then we took drove south to bavaria and visited with my mom and just enjoying being "Home". We did a lot of hiking, biking and took a trip to Milano which was only 3 hrs from our appartment at Walchensee.

The last weekend of our trip, we drove up to Dortmund again and went to a Spezialzuchtschau in Melle-Neuenkirchen. It was held at a Strawberry Farm and yes they did have strawberries already and they were big and delicious!
Finchen and Felix cleaned up that they and got everything that was there to win. Our judge was Mrs Rhodin from Sweden.
After this show in the afternoon was the Champion of Champion. Only Felix could compete because he had his Champion titles already. There were 2 judges. Dr. Kettendörfer, Mr, Deutscher and Mrs. Rhodin. The judges independently had to judge the dogs and could not talk to each other.
First all the dogs in one class had to walk in the ring, and each round one was eliminated till there was only one male and one female of each class. It was nerve racking, the competion was great.
Then the male had to stand on a blue carpet and the female on the red carpet and the judges decided Felix is Champion of Champion. I was thrilled!

Then next day was the Landessiegerschau, Felix won everything and got the title Landessieger 2009, Finchen won her class but did not win the title when all the female winners of each class had to compete for the title. The judge said Finchen was the nicer dog, but she acted a little scared and shy and he awarded the another dog the title, because personaltiy is important too. It was a cold morning and she was shivering, she would have rather snuggled with Lydia in her coat. Yes that is our Finchen she rather be snuggling than showing herself off. Felix of course is so different, he is a "showman" he has strong nerves and knows he "got it" nothing faces him and the judges just loved him.

EYE Test (CERF)

On the hottest day of the year, I took 7 dogs to the CERF examination in Lancaster at the Host Resort and Hotel. Over the weekend the Rottweiler Club had a show there and offered diferent types of health screening including the CERF test(Canine Eye Registraton Foundation) to check for PRA and cataract. The eye clinic was close to me, and eye clinics are not often offered in my area. So I took advatage and I took Felix, Finchen Flori, Lexi, Lilly, Lizzy and Mio and all passed A-o.k.! It was a job especially in that heat, but it was worth while and I know they are all o.k.

.......he had good first night-crate at around 11, yelped for 10 minutes or so, then fell asleep. Got him up around 6, he ate a full breakfast without picking his head up out of the bowl, He's playfull, tail up and wagging, exploring, and did his first poop outside. He seems really sweet. He's going to be a handfull I can tell, but he's been started well. Great job and thanks! Vince

Hi Alexandra, Simon just had a vet visit and he's 5.5 pounds now. He's doing well. Housebreaking is still so-so but he's doing great overnight in the crate. He's a big snuggler and gets lots of exercise. He's the star of the show whenever we go out. The vet tech where we go wrote down your name because her friend is looking for a mini longhaired dachshund and hasn't been able to find anyone reputable around here. The vet was impressed with Simon's excellent teeth alignment and overall condition. Hope you are well. Jess

Quadro is growing so fast, and he is so beautifu! Our vet told us he ist the best looking puppy she has ever seen. He is also a very smart little guy. He loves to do new things and he's learning what we teach him very quickly. His personality continues to expand, he has lots of energy and sleeps well all through the night. Each evening before his bedtime he lays on my lap and is quiet - I can even knit with him on my lap before bed. We give him walks each day weather permitting and pay games with him several times a day. He loves the interaction and loves to meet our firends as well. I couldn't ask for a better puppy and I know he is this way because of all your hard work over the years, the many trips to Germany and your ecxellent breeding skills. Hello Alexandra,Quadro is a wonderful, good puppy! He was a little anxious for a couple days but we stuck to the routine we set out for him and he has settled in quite nicely. I am so impressed with the training you gave him. He used the newspapers in his playpen from the beginning and sleeps through the nights! We have him in a crate next to my bed at night; once he's housebroken he can sleep in a regular dog bed. For now, he'll be confined to the playpen in our kitchen unless we're exercising or playing with him. He gets several play times from each of us every day. We also have a large tiled basement and take him there for exercise - he's so cute as he scampers around. And when I walk around the basement he follows me - just like you said. He played with a friend's puppy who visited this weekend-lots of our friends have stopped in over the weekend to meet him and he greeted them all warmly. Today he took a nap on my lap - he's such a dear, sweet puppy! He goes to the vet this week for his booster shot. He has a full life! Thank you for giving us the chance to live with Q. Koume! We really appreciate everything. She is very cute, curious, and powerful. She has already made us surprise because she succeeded in peeing just first time and never fail. As you know, we had some hard situations before meeting her, and almost gave up the life with her. But now she is here. We realize that this is the perfect life and can do anything for her. We really appreciate your kindness and giving us this life.

Raleigh is a very bright, beautiful, alert, and sweet puppy. Remy and Ripley are great with him. Ripley plays the most with him. He is the one that has retained his puppy-like qualities even though he is 9. Remy who is 11 is more the motherly type. He has a very healthy appetite. The housebreaking is going well; but I must stick to a strict schedule. I did not have to use the crate. I gate him in the kitchen with Remy and Ripley when I go to work. They all cuddle in their bed. I come home for lunch and walk all three pups. Raleigh walks so well on his leash right beside me. Parents are Jutta and Felix vom Weberschlösschen, puppies arrived January 21. 2009 Here they are at 5 days old. Jutta had 5 boys and 1 tiny girl. The little girl weight less than half of the boys, we tried our best, but it was not enough and our "Sunshine" left us.

Since birth the boys have grown like weeds and doing really well

This litter is one of the last Zwerg and Kaninchenteckel cross litters and more likely this combination will never happen again. As of January 1. 2009 the VDH (Verein des Deutsches Hundewesen which oversees the Deutsche Teckel Klub) will not allow any more special permits for crossing sizes. Such as the S and Q litter. They want Teckels only be bred to dogs in the same size bred class. In the FCI Standard there are 3 sizes and 3 coats which would make 9 breeds of dachshunds.

DTK SILVER Breeders Award

January 2009, exactly one year after we received our bronze award we received the "Silver" breeder award. This is an award for an outstanding breeding program of healthy, beautiful and correct dogs. To earn points toward it, our dogs with the "Weberschlösschen" name have to be shown at DTK-FCI shows. This means of course traveling to shows in Germany, then we hope that our Weberschlösschen kids would do well to earn points and that it all would be worth while, because we cannot just go to another show a few weeks later. Also one dog has a 10 point limit. Felix, Flori, Finchen and Jutta reached their limit. This prevents breeders from showing always the same dog, and encourage breeders to show their new off springs. .......And yes we are tremendously proud and happy to be awarded the "Silver Breeders Award"

A short but succesful trip to Germany

On December 4th I took Michayla and Mandy vom Weberschlösschen to the CACIB show Kassel. Both of the girls traveled well and we arrived as planed around noon at Günter and Petras place in Waltershausen Thüringen. Michayla and Mandy felt right at home and snuggled with the other dogs there on the "Eckbank" At 15 month according to the German breeding regulations a Zwerg and Kaninchenteckel has to be seen by a German judge to get a rating and has its chest circumference measured, before it can enter the breeding program. Both girls have gotten already excellent ratings but at the time they were not old enough. This was the main reason for taking Michayla and Mandy to this show,. The other option would have been to wait till next September when a German Judge comes here to the USA.

Saturday we went to the show, both girls did well. Michayla got V (excellent) and placed 2. and Mandy got V (excellent) got first place and then had to compete against the winner of the other classes and won this class also.

As always it was a lot of fun being there and seeing Teckelfriends and their dogs.

I am very proud of Michayla and Mandy how they have done with their limited show experience and how well they acted. It seems like nothing bothered them, and they never barked at other dogs, or other people. When we walked through town and other people with dogs, or bike or strollers would approach us, it was like they have seen this before and it was an old hat. I am sure most of the things they experienced and seen they have never seen here on the farm.

We just got back from a walk to the town of Waltershausen, with Elizabeth and her daughter Zina von Schloss Tenneberg and Michayla and Mandy. There you can see the difference between Kaninchen and Zwergteckel. Zina and Elizabeth being the Kaninchenteckel

Günter and Petra had two beautiful males out of their Peggy von Schloss Tenneberg , they decided to let me have one of them for our breeding program. I was allowed to chose between Amore Mio and Amadeus. The decision was not hard and it was decided with in a minute, Amore Mio was the one the has chosen me, he came right up to me, greeted me, and of course Mandy and Michayla liked him too and he liked the girls. So Amore Mio traveled home with us.

Amore Mio von Schloss Tenneberg is about 7 month old and is a very promissing Zwergteckel male. He has lot of hunting lines in his background and will be the future sire for our Zwergteckel girls. He first needs to be rated by a German judge at 15 month which will happen the end of September 2009. He has a beautiful deep rich mahogany color, already for his age a beautiful long shinny coat. He is not only beautiful but has the best personality which for us is very important, nothing seems to bother him. He never experienced kids (at least not that many at one time) and lots of people, but greeted everyone right away and felt right at home. He knew right away what to do with Lydia and Maddys little chairs, Felix and Finchen did not even have to show him.

(Diplomate American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists) to have their eyes checked for the mandatory eye exam CERF (Canine Eye Registration Foundation) All three passed -no problem- and Dr. Koch said everything was normal as we expected.

NATC Zuchtschau and Events

On September 24th -September 28th the NATC (North American Teckel Club) held its events in Reading Pa and some Events at our place. Wednesday and Thursday the NATC offered a blood tracking seminar which was well attended. On Friday the members meet at the Pocono Beagle Club in Leesport PA for the small game/loud Hunter test. This year, former president of the Baverian Dachshund Club Andreas Fichtl was invited as a confirmation judge. He was along at the various hunting tests and the bloodtracking seminar.

The Weberschlösschen Teckel did well. Michayla, Mandy, their sister Madely received a "V" also Jutta did. My buddy Bogard vom Weberschlösschen aka "Buster" finally got his well deserved "V". Unfortunalety Danielle vom Webersschlösschen was disqualifyed due to 3 missing P1. I wished I would have checked her myself according to her vet all 42 were present!

Our new girls Lexi and Lilly vom Pfauenhof at 7 month got a great evaluation and received "VV" very promising. For them it was the first time in the show ring, and yes they could have done a little better, but they are still pups and considering that they did very well.

Sunday the 28th we had several test at our place. I entered Felix vom Weberschlösschen in the BHP1 and BHP2 which he both passed, I am so proud of him. BHP1 is a obedience test where the dog has to walk "heel" on leash and off leash, through a crowed of people and over obstacles. The off leash heeling could have been better.... Then came the "recall" the dog has to leave and then is called back, Felix did it with "Halt" and got extra points. This is when you signal your dog to stop, he has to stop and then he is picked up by handler. Then the down stay for 5 minutes with the handler standing away at least 50 meters, middle in the field with distraction by a dog and person. then he was tested to recaction to noice which was no big deal to Felix, then he was tested how he reacts to people and traffic. Felix had to sit in the middle at my side, then we were surrounded by people that came walking in close to us, the second time clapping their hands really loud, again Felix showed no reaction, just wondered what that was all about. then he was tested on reaction to traffic and people we had to walk by a person with a newspaper, person opening an umbrella, bike with bell etc, but again Felix handled it very well, I did not expected anything else of a dog that crossed the Atlantic how many times and has been to how many shows??

The BHP2 is where the dog has to find the handler, well I practiced as much as I could but really had no idea if Felix would understand what to do. We had 6 dogs entered. I requested to have Felix tested on another farm because here was his home, if he would not find me he probably would run across the street and go home....

So the judges, Felix and I drove to the other farm. Andy B. the judge walked about a 900ft track in front of me with two right angles. Andy and I found a spot to hide in tall grass, and we gave the o.k for Andreas to let Felix go....and the waiting began. I had to try hard to keep myself hidden I wanted to see so bad what Felix was doing. Andy kept pushing my head down and told me to be quiet, but it was so hard, Andy probably never hidden out with such a fidgety handler. After a while (it seemed for ever) there we seen Felix... he was so close and all of a sudden he was gone and the waiting began again.... and I was waiting for the call the test was failed and to come on out.

Well after a long while there came Felix and found me, I cannot discribe how proud I was at that moment.

Teddy who was the field judge explained to me what happend. She said what a intelligent dog you have... and this is what happend. Andreas put Felix at the start of the track, he took to the track right a way and was almost at our hidding place, that is when we spoted Felix. Then Carrie another judge walked from the bottem side of the field in the open so she could see Felix. Felix must have picked up his head, seen Carrie and thought oh there she is and started to run towards Carrie ....realizing it was not me. So he went back to the truck and looked for me. Then Teddy put Felix back on the track, but he had no interest to start again. Then he sat with the judges awhile then went back to the truck to look for me again he went back and forth and wondered what to do. The judges at this point were debating if the test was failed and over. Andreas said no just wait look at Felix he is trying to figure out what to do, give him more time. Then Felix ran back to the spot where he found Carrie, then tracked his own track back to my track, continued, and then he found me. Well yes its my Felix a very intelligent dog! It took a little longer but he passed the test. The second part of the test was that he had to wait patiently outside a building for 5 minutes while a jogger, biker and other dogs walked by, and again it was no big deal for Felix.

There were also gunshyness test, BHP3 and water retrival test offered at the pond of the local rod and gun club . Overall it was one of the best Events we had, more dogs passing tests than before. I was very impressed about all the dogs that retrieved their toy or duck from the water, especially Ankes dog she had a hard time swimming with the duck but would not let go, she was peristence and did a great job.

Sunday evening after all the tests there was lots of paper work, Andreas and our kids enjoyed a football game in the indoor arena till everything else was done.

Felix is DTK Klubsieger 2008

On July 13th 2008 in Herne Germany the DTK held its Klubsiegerschau. 324 teckel were entered, more than last year.

I stayed with my dear friends Heinrich and Inge who own Ken vom Waldesrain Dad of our F-litter.

Heinrich entered Ken also to the show, Ken has many many titles and is 6 years old, but for some reason never got the DTK Klubsieger title, this was probably his last try for the title.

Felix was entered in the open Kaninchen longhair male class which he won and got V1 (Excellent 1) Ken won his Champion class and got his V1. Then in the end all the Kaninchen longhair males that got V1 had to compete for the Klubsiegertitle Felix had to go agains his dad Ken... and Felix did it.

Michayla, Mandy and Jutta also were along, their classes where hudge, and the judge was more than tough, alone in the youth zwerg female class were 16 dogs. all of the got a great rating, but did not place. It was great for Mandy, Michayla and Jutta to be along to get more show experience.

We were just getting ready to watch the Euro Soccer Game half finals Germany- Turkey at someones house since we do have ESPN2, .....and then Finchen started her labor. We were kind of surprised she was not due till the 29th or 30th of June, today was her 59th day.

There was just no more room and the puppies wanted out.... I am glad too that they came early or they would have grown too big.

The first puppy arrived at 2:08 a male, at 2:16 a girl, at 3:41 a male and at 4:04 another male

I listen to the exciting soccer game via PC radio, in between the puppies I dashed back and forth between PC and whelping box.

The Germans battled hard, but won 3:2, so in honor to the German soccer player we will name one of the puppies Podolski and we really should name one Philip Lahm he scored the winning goal just before the game ended. Way to go Germany and Finchen!

Now since the puppies are hear we can watch the Euro Finals on Sunday with out worries!

Finally our (two legged) boys Tyler and Layne had a chance to visit Germany for 10 days over Easter. This time we left our fourlegged kids at home. We had a great time, everything was new for them, the biggest surprise was to attend a soccer game at the Alianz Arena in Munich. FC Bayern agains Bayer Leverkusen.

Tante Erne, Hans, and Kristina went with us.

We weather was not the best, we had a lot of snow but we still had lots of fun.

Success for the Weberschlösschen Teckel at the IHA München

Felix, Finchen and Jutta traveled with me to the International Dog Show in Munich. Felix and Finchen were entered in the open class, both of them won their class and the won against the other competing dogs out of the "Gebrauchs, Zwischen und Championklasse. Both got V1 DTK-CAC, VDH-CAC and CACIB. Then Finchen and Felix had to run against each other for the BOB (Best of Breed) and Felix won it. He then competed against all the BOB Dogs from each of the Teckel breeds, 9 all toghether and got 3.rd Place.

Jutta was entered in the "Jugendklasse" Zwergteckel and got V1 DTK and VDH-J CAC. For her first big show Jutta did very well. I had no idea what to expect but of course hoped it would be worth while going.... the competition was great and I never showed under this judge, he was very strict, but very correct. I was absolutely happy that it was such a successful trip!

We kept two girls out of our M-litter (parents Luna and Ilja), they just turned 5 month old and developing very nicely and are busy teething, we are hoping all their little teeth will come in. Both have lots of "baby fat" and lots of hair we never had such hairy puppies (must come from their Daddy Ilja), we call them our little bears.

Our Trip to Germany Oktober 2007

On September 27th Lydia, I and our two dogs Felix and Finchen went to Germany. Lydia was the best travel buddy I could have wished for she was always a sunshine and never complained about anything.
We were held on the runway in Philadelphia for 2 hours, we were told it was the weather, but it didn't seem right because it was a beautiful cloudless day, and we found out all the flights from JFK were also grounded for 2 hours. So we missed our connection flight to Munich and had to wait for the next flight, but it all worked out it was just took a little longer.
It was raining in Munich and very cloudy and cold.

We got to our home at Walchensee, Bavaria Friday night around 6 PM and when we got there we could see the sunset over the moutains, what a blessing it was to see these mountains after such a hard day of traveling!

We unpacked or rather repacked because we left early Saturday morning for the Spezial and Landessiegerschau of the Bayrischen Dachshundklub which was held in the cutes little village of Kaltental. With lots of sunshine we left around 8 AM for the show. Everytime I am driving through this beautiful peaceful scenery I am in awe and I feel so much at home. Lydia wondered when the "barrel racing" is ever going to stop because we had to drive a few very tight mountain passes.
Around 10 we got to Kaltental-Aufkirch. The show was held outdoors at the villages townhall that was also the firehall. My aunt Erne, Hans and Kristina came and meet us there. We got out of our car and parked right beside teckel friends that I met in Mexico City at the world show that was a nice way to start of the day.

Second day both Finchen and Felix got Landessieger Südbayern and Felix was awarded nicest Longhair out of all the Longhair dachshunds.

My dear friends Petra and Günter made the long trip from Thüringen their Nobel got Jugendlandessieger von Südbayern.

The following week we spent at Walchensee, my aunt Erne, and cousin Kristina came to visit and we did a lot of hiking, relaxing and just enjoying being at the most beautiful place on earth (sorry I am bias)

We also had a chance for a short visit in Neuffen my old home town before we headed up to the Bundessiegerschau in Dortmund. There we meet my dear friends Petra, Günter, Heinrich and Inge. We stayed at Heinrich and Inge´s house for 4 days and had a wonderful time visiting. Thank you family and friends for a wonderful visit.

On Saturday, all three got V1 and placed first, Flori got Best Oposite Sex of Breed, Felix got Best Junior of Breed, then he won 3. in the big Honor Ring against all the other junior dachshunds.

Sunday under Judge Oscar Valverde Costa Rica, all three got V1 first place, Finchen got Best Junior Breed, Felix got Best of Opsite Sex of Breed. Then in the big Honor Ring all three got third in Zuchtgruppe out of 8 groups.

All I can say what an awesome trip it was. I know I say this all the time and I wonder each time if it can get any better.....and it sure was! A suitcase full of trophies...

In October I left Felix vom Weberschlösschen at my friends Petra and Günter in Waltershausen Germany to get his youth champion title, which he did. Back then already I was planning this trip to pick him up when he is 15 month old so he could be meassured by a DTK judge, as a Kaninchenteckel and I was also planning to take his sisters Finchen and Florence so we could walk "Zuchtgruppe" (Breeders class) at the show.

I decided that I needed a helper on my trip with the dogs, lugguage e.t.c. so I decided to take Jacqualyn this time. We booked our flight to leave Philadelphia on April 12th. I was kind of nervous and worried about the dogs because I never flown with that many. I took Finchen, Florence and our new male Ilja vom Benthener Forst also to be meassured and shown at the show. Since we only could take one dog each in the cabin, I decided to put Flori and Finchen together in a bigger kennel and send them in the pet room.

When we got to the airport Lufthansa personal assured me that our dogs will be well taken care of that it was a nice pet room with lights and heat. They knew we were flying with three dogs and told me that the pilot is aware that we will be transporting dogs and will make sure the pet room is all ready for them.

We were quite an attraction at the airport, it must have been a sight, I had three dogs piled on top of my lap.

After awhile we checked in Flori and Finchen and gave them to the Lufthansa personal, but eventhough I knew they will be fine I worried some. Ilja stayed with us and flew under our seat in his pet travel bag.

In Frankfurt, warm Spring weather greeted us, we landed on time at 7 :45 AM, We got our suitcase and then we picked up Flori and Finchen, I could hear them bark already, and then I knew they survieved their transatlantic flight in the Lufthansa pet room. Before we could leave they had to be examined by the airport vet. She didn't even notice Ilja in his bag, but gave Flori and Finchen clearance to go. Then we picked up our rental car and got on the Autobahn........... I didn't even think about how tired I was ---we hardly slept, and lost 6 hours. I was just happy everything went so well.

There were hardly any speed limits and our Opel Meriva got us to Waltershausen in about 2 hours. We had a big Herzlich Willkommen at Petra and Günters house and were also greeted by 12 or more Dackel including our Felix. He was happy to see us but it took him awhile to realize who we were. I think he recognized his sisters first.

I expected a big fighting between all the dogs that didn't know each other, several males, females some had puppies, but it all went well and they accepted each other and got along very well.

We had no chance to rest or even think about how tired we were, we ate and went on a big hike up the Inselberg, each of us held 2 dogs so altogether 8 dogs. The weather was absolutely gorgeous, no clouds, sunshine and very warm. The season was about 2 weeks ahead almost like May so lots of trees and flowers were blooming.

In the evening Heinrich and Inge my other dear friends, the owners of Ken vom Waldesrain which is the Daddy to our F- pups arrived also to stay at Petra and Günters house and to go to the show together the next day. It was a big Hello and we had a wonderful time together.

The next day On April 14th was a DTK show of the Landesverband Thüringen and then on the 15th was a big CACIB show. On these two days there were about 3000 dogs entered, about 200 different breeds and 125 Teckel. Jacqualyn enjoyed looking at all the differend dogs, some breeds we never seen.

It took about 45 minutes to drive to the show grounds in Erfurt, we got there early and set up our area. The judging started around 10 Am. I was called in the ring and was totally clueless what was going to happen. There I received a special greeting by the show person in charge Herr Jens Witter for coming so far to the show and was presented a porceland longhairteckel. Thüringen is known for his fine porcelan and I was told that is is something very special and I sure will treasure it.

Then the show began, first all the smooth and whirehair dogs. then all the individual classes. Then finally the longhair Kaninchen, Standard and Zwerg and then each had a youth, open and inbetween class, and Gebrauchs class. I showed Flori myself I was so nervous but it all went well and my dogs despite that they have never been at a big show and being in a totally different enviroment and traveled so far behaved at their best. They do have a great disposition and good nerves and could handle such changes in their lives easily. Herr Jürgen Päplow, and his wife Christel were happy to see us and Herr Päplow offered right away to show Ilja for me, which was so nice of him.

Then the very last class was the breeders class, where I walked with all three Felix, Finchen and Flori, there were one standard long and one zwerg longhair breeders class and I was the Kaninchen longhair Zuchtgruppe. It was so quiet you could hear a pin drop, I was not aware of my surroundings and concentrated to have my team in line. All three walked perfect and floated across the floor, then the judge came towards me and said congratulations and handed me the trophy! I guess I won it!

Wow what a day, all dogs got V1 which means Excellent first place and got titles Landessieger
now winning the Zuchtgruppe yet, it was almost overwhelming.
Then we packed up, we were exhaused, tired but extremly happy and excited.

The show went very late, around 7 PM we all went back to Günter and Petras house where we enjoyed a great meal and fellowship.

Then the next day was the CACIB show it was very similar but different judges. Felix won twice over his Daddy Ken and took BOB out of 4 dogs. Ilja won and so did Finchen. Florence took V2 that day, but again I was extremly happy and overwhelmed. I went with the thought of gaining experience and have the dogs meassured in and everything else was bonus.

I met lots of nice people, and again we went home very tired and exhaused but totallly overwhelmed and happy about the accomplishments.

The next day we packed up and drove south to Urfeld-Walchensee to meet my Mom. Ilja stayed behind but we took the girls Finchen and Flori.

We made it through Munich pretty easy, we passed the Allianz Arena and some other landmarks, and then took Autobahn 95 towards my mountains I bet it only took 15 minutes driving almost 200km/hr till we reached exit for Kochel am See, then another 20 minutes and I was home.
We did a lot of hiking and biking and just enjoyed being in this awsome place, surrounded by the majestic mountains and lake.
Unfortunately Flori did get sick for us, and it seems like she ate something she shouldn't have or got a virus at the show. We cooked some special food for her but she didn't get better so Thursday night I took her to the vet, Thanks to Vet Dr. Münsterer in Bichl who gave her some meds and two shots, she was much better the next day. I was glad Flori got better because I was planning to take Finchen and Flori to a regular Zuchtschau on Sunday, if they would get each an excellent or V which means Vorzüglich then each would have 5 points, Felix has his 5 points already and then I would be eligable for the Bronze Züchternadel, which means the Bronze Breeders award. Which is another accomplishment which I never dreamed of!

My brother his wife Monica and kids Sven and Christian came also to Walchensee from South Carolina and also my sister Deborah and son Marc from Neuffen. It was nice to all see each other eventhough it was only for a few days.

I had such a great time it was hard to think about packing suitcases, Sunday night and get ready to leave for Waltershausen to pick up Felix and Ilja. Tuesday morning we left Waltershausen to Frankfurt to the airport.

At a young age of 11 month Felix vom Weberschlösschen received V1 with "Anwartschaft" at the VDH show in Kassel and earn his last point to be Deutscher Jugendchampion German youth champion. We are very happy and we are thanking Petra and Heinrich for all their help to make this happen!

Dortmund 2006!

I took Felix vom Weberschlösschen (DOB 1.1.2006) to the Bundesiegerschau in Dortmund, where he received the title "Bundesjugendsieger" (Federal Youth Champion) and a great evaluation by the judge.
On Saturday we took Felix to a Spezialzuchtschau from the Regional District Westfalen and Felix was evaluated by a judge from Spain. He received V1 and also won the CAC Youth out of all youth longhair that included Zwerg and Standard. Felix was only 9 month and 14 days. Dogs eligible for the youth class can be 9-18 month old.
Sunday there was another special Bundessiegerschau, the 100-Year-Anniversary of the VDH (Verein Deutsches Hundewesen, German Kennel Club) and there again, Felix received the title Jahrhundert Bundesjugendsieger (Century Federal Youth Champion). The judges really liked Felix and said he was a "Spitzenhund" (outstanding dog). These titles also earned him points towards the VDH German Youth Championship. He needs 1 more point to receive this title.
Felix will stay in Germany till he is 15 month and visit more shows, the next one will be in Hannover in two weeks and another in Kassel.
Overall it was a wonderful, but overwhelming experience. I met lots of teckel friends that greeted me with a warm hospitality. I went with no expectation at all and never thought I would come home with such titles and trophies.

On July 25th Jacqualyn had the best Birthday Surprise for her 10th Birthday, Oma came from Germany to help celebrate her Birthday.

Oma stayed till August 15th and also could be here for Layne's 8th Birthday and also see the 5 oldest ride in the C.P.Y.R.A. Finales.

August 5th 2006 the first Weber Cousin got married all the Weber cousins were in the Wedding, look and see... it was a huge Wedding Party

Emily is in 5th grade, and her class was putting on a pet show for their school. The kids were allowed to bring their pets and tell something about them. Some brought goats, roosters, ducklings, chickens, cats and kittens, and of course Emily brought Lizzy.
Lizzy went with Emily on the bus to school, she stayed all day long at school and got to play with the kids at recess. Before the show we took Felix, Finchen and Florence, all four pups did so well and everybody enjoyed and loved them.

In October 2005 Emily competed at the All American Quarter Horse Congress in Columbus OH with her Horse Zans Lucky Vanal. It was an incredible experience for her. She placed 5th in the 13 and under age group.
